Hi! I'm Leesah! I am a Jamaican-American writer/artist currently residing in Southern California. Born a free-spirited island girl, I have always valued the freedom of self-expression and the freedom to move with the wind. Migrating to the U.S. as a child helped me to gain the flexibility needed to swim with life's ever-changing currents. Growing up on the beautiful island of Jamaica fueled my love for colorful things and a fruitful life. Creating has always been a joy for me and writing has always been a huge part of my release when life got overwhelming. I decided to study communications with a focus on journalism and digital media and from there, I learned skills that aided in my growth academically and professionally. I value writing as it allows me to connect with others through writing about common experiences and themes. Creating vibrant works of art is a lot of fun for me, and being able to work in the creative field is something I could have only imagined growing up. I want to share my experiences with others through my art in hopes of helping them heal and grow from the inside out. If in the least, I love to evoke beautiful emotions in the hearts of those that reach my work. I graduated with my degree in communications and delved into many forms of art; oil painting, digital art, photography, + more. I love to learn and discover new hobbies and forms of self-expression. What we create in life is what remains when we are gone. like many artists who came before me, I hope to leave a meaningful and long-lasting impact on the world when I am gone.
